{"id":704,"date":"2015-02-13T00:05:26","date_gmt":"2015-02-13T00:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sedpi.com\/?page_id=704"},"modified":"2015-02-13T00:05:26","modified_gmt":"2015-02-13T00:05:26","slug":"flse-program-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sedpi.com\/en\/services\/training\/flse-program-2\/","title":{"rendered":"FLSE Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Leadership, Financial Literacy and Social Entrepreneurship (FLSE) Program is an empowerment program targeting family members of Overseas Filipinos Workers (OFWs) in the Philippines in the areas of Leadership, Financial Literacy and Social Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Filipino migrants and their families united towards supporting each other in becoming empowered and highly respected members of society, consciously contributing to nation building<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FLSE aims to provide families of Overseas Filipinos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership skills training that empowers Overseas Filipino families\u00a0to view themselves\u00a0as agents of change and transformation<\/li>\n<li>Financial education including both financial concepts and skills that they can use to improve their economic security to contribute to household income and reduce dependency on remittances<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurship skills, focused on social entrepreneurship, so that Overseas Filipino families\u00a0can explore their potentials for changing their livelihood options instead relying solely on paid employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program Characteristics and Features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FLSE program has the following innovative features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a collaborative effort of government, academia, private sector and civil society groups to help in the empowerment of family members of Overseas Filipinos<\/li>\n<li>It combines essential leadership skills, financial literacy and social entrepreneurship of family members of\u00a0Overseas Filipino\u00a0to broaden their views, dreams and visions and empower them to pursue these<\/li>\n<li>By encouraging families of Overseas Filipinos to become entrepreneurs, especially social entrepreneurs, they will be addressing various social problems transforming them into agents of social change<\/li>\n<li>The program challenges the trainees to give back of pay forward their training to other Overseas Filipino families, thus enabling them to widen and expand the program&#8217;s outreach and sustain the program&#8217;s goals and objectives over the long term<\/li>\n<li>An integral part of the program is ongoing mentoring and coaching throughout the course.
