While global impact investment has grown, she noted that most capital flows to microfinance or late-stage enterprises. The result? A continued neglect of startups and enterprises operating in the so-called \u201cmissing middle\u201d\u2014those needing between \u20b1250,000 to \u20b115 million in financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re all asking entrepreneurs to get better, be more investable, and formalize. But the truth is\u2014the capital hasn&#8217;t evolved to meet them where they are,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Villgro Philippines, under Priya\u2019s leadership, addresses this mismatch by focusing on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Early-stage, impact-first enterprises<\/strong>\u2014especially those in climate, housing, and health sectors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Women-led businesses<\/strong>, backed by a strong gender lens from day one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Blended finance solutions<\/strong> that combine grants, loans, and equity to bridge risk gaps and unlock growth potential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She also highlighted the creation of the <strong>Impact Pioneers Network<\/strong>, a co-investment facility of 12 active partners including microfinance institutions, foundations, and individual investors. Together, they pool resources and share risks to support startups with tailored, flexible financing\u2014especially those who can\u2019t yet meet conventional requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s enough liquidity in the Philippines. The issue is de-risking and channeling capital to where it\u2019s most needed\u2014and that requires real collaboration,\u201d Priya stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her presentation urged stakeholders to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Map the financing ecosystem more clearly by enterprise stage and need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Co-create products with entrepreneurs, instead of forcing them to adapt to rigid models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase transparency and learning within the ecosystem by sharing both <strong>successes and failures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Priya ended with a call for <strong>moral accountability<\/strong>: \u201cIf we want systemic change, we must do more than talk\u2014we must actually invest. The money is here. The entrepreneurs are here.
