Antonio La Viña

Dean Antonio La Viña has been the Dean of the Ateneo de Manila University’s School of Government since 2006. Prior to this, he worked for 8 years at the Washington DC-based World Resources Institute (WRI). His earlier experience includes serving as Undersecretary for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippines and co-founding the Legal Resources Center-Kasama sa Kalikasan. Tony is also a lead negotiator for the Philippines in the ongoing Copenhagen climate change talks and chairs the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation negotiations. Tony holds a BS in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University, a law degree from the University of the Philippines and obtained his Masters and Doctorate in Law from Yale Law School. He placed third in the 1989 Philippine bar exams.

Daniela Laurel

Daniela Laurel holds a doctorate degree in Management Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. Her research interests include exploring financial tools for Social Entrepreneurship and Socially Responsible Investing using third sector and capital models. Prior to joining the academe, she worked for two years as an investment banker at the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Amsterdam headquarters, mainly in cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions. Daniela holds a BS in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and an MBA from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain. She is currently studying and living in Paris, France.

Alexandra Ganzon

Alexandra Ganzon is the Marketing Officer (Italy) for Bangko Kabayan Inc., the leading rural bank in Southern Tagalog. She graduated with a degree in Marketing Management from the De La Salle University in 2000. On the same year she was also recognized as the Philippine Marketing Association’s Excellence Awardee. Prior to coming to Italy, she gained work experience in marketing, business development and merchandising in top Philippine companies which include the Ayala Group and Stores Specialists Inc. In 2005, she took her masters in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at the Polimoda Fashion Institute in Florence. Alex has been actively involved in promoting financial literacy among migrant workers since 2009.

Stefano Fois

Stefano Fois currently works as a Consultant for the Business Performance Institute based in Berlin, London, and Turin where he specializes in capability building , organizational restructuring, and management training. Prior to this, he spent three years as a banker, working in Paris, London, Turin, and Amsterdam. Stefano holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, and an MS in International Management from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and the City University of London.

Dr. Juan Kanapi, Jr.

Dr. Juan Kanapi, Jr. is presently the Chief Learning Officer of the Rizal Academy for Innovation and Leadership (TRAIL), a school without walls, helping leaders to transform their organizations into learning organizations. Juan is a Senior Faculty of the Executive Doctorate in Education Leadership (EDEL) and the Public Management Development Program (PMDP) for top government officials of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). He was an Associate Professor who taught Human Behavior in Organizations and Strategic Human Resource Management at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM). As consultant of the AIM-TEaM Energy Center for Bridging Societal Divides, he participated in training educators and leaders all over the Philippines in the art of Bridging Leadership. Juan holds a PhD in Organization Development from the Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI). He completed his MA in Social Psychology and AB in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Ma. Teresa Medrano-Ganzon

Ma. Teresa Medrano-Ganzon is the Managing Director of Bangko Kabayan (BK), Inc. She is also the president of Ibaan Rural Bank Foundation inc., the social arm of BK. Teresa has endeavored to weld business efficiencies, development concerns and faith-based motivation to grow a business organization with a strong orientation towards service to the rural community. Today, she serves as the Asian representative in the International Commission on Economy of Communion of the Focolare Movement. Teresa is a graduate of the University of the Philippines (A.B. Journalism, cum laude) and she holds a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship in Social Development (Superior Performance) from the Asian Institute of Management.

Fr. Patrick Z. Falguera, SJ

Fr. Patrick Z. Falguera, SJ currently works as a consultant for the Ateneo School of Government while finishing his doctorate in Leadership Studies also at the Ateneo de Manila University. Having been ordained a Jesuit priest in 2004, he was first assigned as parish priest of San Jose Manggagawa Parish in Marikina. He then completed an MSc degree in Development Planning at the University College London after the parish was turned over to the Diocese in Antipolo.

Teodora Dizon

Teodora Dizon is a psychologist from the Ateneo de Manila University, with background and training in both Clinical and Applied Social PsychologyShe is a founding partner, psychologist and training officer for Better Steps Psychology. She also serves the Ignatian grassroots advocacy under UGAT Foundation, Inc., where she has been working as a speaker, project director and therapist for four years. Teddi focuses largely on issues of migrant workers and their families, helping them to re-discover personal and interpersonal harmony within the migrant setting. She is currently serving as the director for the Family Care and Wellness Program for Migrants under UGAT Foundation. She regularly conducts seminars on family systems and community building to both local and migrant communities in the Philippines, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Arnel Casanova

Atty. Arnel Casanova is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and is a Lead Faculty member of the Social Entrepreneurship Course at the Ateneo de Manila University’s School of Government. He holds a law degree from the University of the Philippines and Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government as a Mason Fellow and World Bank scholar. He is a founder of AvantChange, a social enterprise established in Harvard and is organizer of the Harvard Club of the Philippines Social Enterprise Initiative. Arnel sits in the board of CARD-MRI, the largest microfinance institution in the Philippines.

Florisa Almodiel

Atty. Florisa Almodiel is pursuing a Masters in Law at the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. She was one of the first lawyers of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) by the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Hawaii. Flor pioneered the application of ADR to environmental conflicts and co-founded the Mediatiors Network for Sustainable Peace (MedNet), a conflict-resolution NGO providing ADR training and mediation services. Flor has lectured on International Human Rights Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution for the mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE) program of the Supreme Court for lawyers and judges at the University of Cebu and has published an article on the use of conflict management in coastal management. She graduated top of her class, cum laude, in AB Sociology from the University of the Philippines (UP) and holds a Bachelor of Law degree, also from UP.
